Our Mentors are asked to meet the minimum expectations:
- Dedicate 1-3 hours a month to the program.
- One face-to-face meeting per month.
- Email/text communication once a week.
- Meetings can occur at any location except for personal homes.
- Assess student(s) at the end of each semester. (MNCAPS Coordinator will distribute an electronic evaluation.)

PLHS is proud to be an E-STEM school where students receive instruction focused on inquiry and real-world problem solving in the 21st Century, applying hands-on science, technology, engineering and mathematical practices with projects and field experiences related to the environment.
Our district programs have been recognized by the U.S. Department of Education with PLSAS being named a Green Ribbon Schools Sustainability District that supports Environmental Education.
PLHS offers many innovative programs such as MNCAPS, Project Lead the Way, EcoTeam and our small-scale Fabrication Laboratory, Fab Lab.
Our dedicated teaching staff personalize education for students by customizing their learning paths through purposeful instruction that empowers students.
