ORGANIZATION: Compassionate Care Hospice, an Amedisys company

With the back-and-forth impacts of COVID-19, assisted living facilities and nursing homes slowly opening their doors again to the public, we're in need for Hospice Volunteers to provide comfort and support to patients and peace of mind to their families!

This opportunity will bring happiness and inspire individuals to make a difference in the community.

As a volunteer, you could:

  • Work directly with patients
    • Socializing, playing games, conversations, watching shows, holding a hand, coloring, painting nails, crafts, talking about fun past adventures :)
  • Help behind the scenes:
    • Making cars, blankets, calls, helping the hospice team in office or from home.

This experience is rewarding and special- it will stay in your and the family’s heart and mind forever.

Please feel free to contact me (Sara Decker) at Compassionate Care Hospice for more information :) Can’t wait to speak with you!

Mission Statement

We honor those we serve with compassionate hospice and personal care services that apply the highest quality clinical practices toward allowing our patients to maintain a sense of independence, quality of life and dignity.

Description

Our Volunteers work side-by-side with the professional staff to provide patient and family support. As a friend who pledges to be with them through the uncertainties of the weeks ahead, hospice volunteers offer patients and families a listening ear, a hand to hold, and the presence of a caring heart. Services offered by the hospice volunteers are as varied as the needs of the patients and families. All hospice volunteers receive specialized training by me before assignment to patients and families. There is no area of hospice where the expertise and enthusiasm of the volunteer is not a valuable asset.
