Hospice Volunteers provide comfort and support to patients and peace of mind to their families. This opportunity will bring happiness and inspire individuals to make a difference in the community. Volunteers truly are a gift to those battling long term illness. As a volunteer, you will represent the mission and goal of Compassionate Care Hospice in comforting these individuals. We have opportunities for both indirect and direct patient interaction. Contribute to our mission by bringing a smile to a patient's face- create cards or knit blankets. Your talents serve as a memorable keepsake and will be cherished by both patient and family. Become a companion, and a friend by sharing a story, holding a hand, or playing games. Time is the most valuable gift you can possible give to someone receiving hospice care. We assure you that this experience is rewarding and special- it will stay in your heart and mind forever, that you were able to grant comfort to someone otherwise suffering. Your help and support will never be forgotten and will have a lasting impression long after your volunteering. Please feel free to contact Catherine Benetti at Compassionate Care Hospice for more information.

Mission Statement

We honor those we serve with compassionate hospice and personal care services that apply the highest quality clinical practices toward allowing our patients to maintain a sense of independence, quality of life and dignity.

Description

Our Volunteers work side-by-side with the professional staff to provide patient and family support. As a friend who pledges to be with them through the uncertainties of the weeks ahead, hospice volunteers offer patients and families a listening ear, a hand to hold, and the presence of a caring heart. Services offered by the hospice volunteers are as varied as the needs of the patients and families. All hospice volunteers receive specialized training by me before assignment to patients and families. There is no area of hospice where the expertise and enthusiasm of the volunteer is not a valuable asset.
