More Than a Bed supports foster, kinship, and adoptive families and the children in their homes with essential needs. We will be hosting a Christmas party on Saturday, December 5, 2020, from 10 am - 2 pm. We will need volunteers to start about an hour before and after the event.
Where do we need your help?
Parking attendants - Show people where to park and ensure safety for those parking.
Santa's helpers - All of the families will have the opportunity to take a photo with Santa. Helpers in this area will ensure all families get their photos taken.
Toy distribution - After getting their photos taken, all of the children will pick out a new toy. Helpers in this area will ensure the children's toys are age appropriate.
To ensure we are adhering to CDC guidelines, all volunteers as well as participants will be required to wear a face-covering and have their temperature checked prior to the event.

More Than a Bed's mission is to provide essential items to foster, kinship, and adoptive families for the children in their homes because every child deserves to be valued.
Description
More Than a Bed was established in September 2014. We are a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization and are a Christian resource center for foster and adoptive families. Our vision is to inspire the community to get involved in the life of a foster child and support the family providing care. To encourage new families to be licensed and existing families to remain licensed with the goal of every child in Pima County and its surrounding areas to have a safe place to call home.
In our 5,000 sq ft warehouse we provide clothing, shoes, bedding, baby items, school items, books, cribs, toys, household items for the families to come in and shop for free for the items they need to provide for the child/children placed in their care. Through grants we purchase items much needed including cribs, twin and toddler beds, bunk beds, diapers and underwear. We believe every child should feel valued, so by helping the families get the essential needs for the children we hope we are accomplishing this.

- Must be at least 16
- The event is from 10 am - 2 pm, but we need volunteers an hour before & after. Volunteers are able to split shifts; please indicate if you need a split shift.
- If you have a level one fingerprint clearance card, you will not need a background check. Otherwise, all volunteers must have a background check. Please provide fingerprint clearance card number if you have one.
