The New York Academy of Sciences is recruiting volunteers for Family Science Nights, interactive events that allow kids and their families to participate in engaging, hands-on STEM activities and meet real scientists and engineers.
Family Science Nights Dates & Locations

  • March 11 - Mt. Eden, Bronx
  • March 27 - Ozone Park, Queens
  • April 21 - Rego Park, Queens
  • April 23 - Chinatown, Manhattan
  • April 24 - West Harlem, Manhattan
  • May 23 - Jamaica, Queens (tentative)
Volunteers can be STEM undergrads, grad students, postdocs, and professionals. The total time commitment is 2 hours. Activities include making slime, building catapults, testing reaction time, DNA extraction, and gumdrop geometry. All events begin at 5:00 or 5:30 pm.
