A Family For Every Child

Our Heart Gallery is a photo display of foster youth awaiting adoption. Heart Galleries are in venues such as shopping malls, airports, banks and other high traffic areas for maximum exposure of children. Photos are rotated every 8 weeks.

Additionally, we coordinate photos of children for recruitment purposes for waiting children nationwide. We have photographers across the country who are interested in helping youth by providing professional quality photos. A photo can make such an difference in the life of a waiting foster youth.

Candidates will assist the Heart Gallery and Photo Coordinator by conducting outreach, data entry, exchanging photos, filling photo packets every 8 weeks, contacting photographers as well as creating fliers, promotional emails and social media posts.

Candidates should have strong oral and written communication skills with strong attention to detail. Candidates should have a passion for helping waiting foster youth.

3 to 6+ month duration, rotating start dates
6 to 12 hours per week

About A Family For Every Child

Mission Statement

A Family for Every Child is dedicated to finding loving, permanent families for every waiting foster child." Our intention is to develop programs that assist special-needs/challenging-to-place foster children in finding their own Forever Families.

A Family For Every Child, a nonprofit organization, was started by Christy Obie-Barrett and dozens of dedicated and passionate volunteers. In 2006, AFFEC was formed and developed into an organization focused on finding permanent and loving adoptive homes for Oregon's waiting children. We started with our first project called The Heart Gallery in November, 2006, and now we have blossomed into ten incredibly successful programs. None of this could have occurred without the wonderful support from thousands of volunteers, sponsors, in-kind donors, photographers, and many more!
