West Columbia Gorge Humane Society (WCGHS), established in 1994, is an independent, 501(c)(3) non-profit, no-kill animal shelter located in Washougal, Washington. The mission of West Columbia Gorge Humane Society is to end unnecessary euthanasia of all healthy or treatable companion animals in our community and find them permanent, loving homes.
The West Columbia Gorge Humane Society is looking for fosters for cats or dogs for on-call, temporary, medical or long term positions. Some animals that need to go to a foster home after a surgery or medical procedure while they recover and like to place them in a foster home instead of the shelter and may also have dogs due to anxiety that will do better in a foster home then the shelter while awaiting an adoption. During the spring and summer, there is a need for kitten fosters. Kittens those are too young to be at the shelter or need to be bottle fed need a foster home. There also may be a need for animals due to age or medical condition which may not get adopted and will stay with a foster instead.

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program supports over 100 non-profits and organizations in Clark County, Washington by interviewing, screening, and referring volunteers ages 55 and up.
