we need volunteers to set up and hand out T-shirts and race numbers and timers on 3 dates before the race, and people to help cleanup immediately after the races on Thanksgiving morning. Ask for a ink to the online calendar so you see available shifts. Saturday 23rd will be 2:30- 5:30pm; Sunday 24th and Wednesday 27th will be 2-6pm, and Thursday 28th (Thanksgiving Day) will be 9:30 - noon. Still looking for volunteer hours for school? The mission Joseph's House is to provide non-judgmental services to end homeless. We are a secular agency, and we operate our temporary and supportive housing on a Housing First /harm reduction model.

Description

Joseph’s House is a Troy community based not-for-profit corporation whose purpose is to prevent and alleviate homelessness. Our programs offer emergency shelter, permanent housing, support services, hospitality and guidance to homeless individuals, youth and families. We offer non-judgmental services where each guest’s dignity and worth are recognized and respected. We guide guests in getting help from community agencies and act as an advocate for the homeless to address immediate and long-term needs. We provide an opportunity for people from our community to volunteer in service to the homeless.

  • These are one time shifts and as they not onsite at our shelter require no addition paperwork or training. They take place in a public space with many other individuals and are suitable for Juniors or Seniors in High School upward.
