The St. Cloud VA Health Care System seek volunteers to serve as Hospice Unit Attendants.
The purpose of this assignment is to provide support to patients and their families during off peak hours on the Hospice Unit. Volunteers will actively participate in visitation, companionship, emotional support, and meaningful engagement.
Unit Attendants are asked to commit to a minimum of two hours per week on a regular schedule.
Unit Attendants will support the No Veteran Dies Alone program as a part of their assignment. Specialized training and resources will be provided to each participant.
A quarterly support meeting will be scheduled to connect with all Unit Attendants. This provides the volunteer group the ability to network with peers and provide feedback to enhance the service provided to volunteers, Veterans, and their families.
We are seeking volunteers to support the unit Monday-Friday from 4 PM- 7 AM and all hours Saturday and Sunday.
