Our Emergency Department way-finder role provides proactive support and excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and other hospital guests. Way-finders assist patients, visitors, and other guests with way-finding, Escorting them to their destination and ensuring a confirmed hand-off to a staff member. In this role, they proactively approach customers to welcome them and determine their way-finding needs. This particular role for the ED is to make sure people find their way to the emergency department but other guests will be in need of directing elsewhere.
This position requires at least an 8 month commitment (as do all SH volunteer positions) serving once a week for a 4 hour shift. - Our commitment for volunteering at Salem Health is a minimum of 8 month, serving once a week for a four hour shift.
- Applying online and signing up for an information session, attending the session and an interview, if accepted you will have some paperwork and required to attend an orientation, passing a background and a TB screening, and then we will train you.
