Shelter House Community Shelter and Transition Services
Help Shelter House staff move furniture from the Iowa Valley Habitat for Humanity ReStore into a nearby storage space. This furniture will later be used to furnish homes for newly housed Shelter House clients. Volunteers must be able to lift heavy furniture with some assistance. Volunteers needed every Wednesday from 8-9:30am.

Shelter House strives to alleviate the problems faced by our community's homeless. We will advocate for positive changes and will guide, teach and facilitate those asking for our assistance through a productive and sustained transition to permanent housing.
Shelter House is Johnson County's only general use homeless shelter, serving men woman and children under one roof 365 days of the year. We provide shelter, food, compassion, employment assistance, in-depth life skills training and counseling. Emergency Shelter Hours: 5 pm - 8 am Monday through Friday and 5 pm - 11 am Saturday and Sunday
