Thank you for your interest in volunteering with By the Bay Health, but due to the current COVID pandemic, Volunteer trainings in 2020 were cancelled. We have been accepting applications continuously throughout the past year, but have not been conducting trainee interviews. We are hopeful to provide one training in fall 2021 when it is safe to conduct classroom sessions in-person, as well as online. We currently welcome new applications, but please be aware that we have a significant number of applicants on the wait-list since March 2020. Applications are processed in the order received, which means your application may not be considered for interview eligibility until 2022.

Are you a master quilter? Are you caring, helpful and adaptable? Do you love the diverse culture of San Francisco and the Peninsula?

Bring stimulation into the lives of those with terminal Alzheimer's/dementia. Come join our team of arts & crafts volunteers. Utilize your sewing skills to assist with symptom management and improve the quality of life for hospice patients. We are looking for experienced sewers to make activity mats for dementia patients.

As an Arts & Crafts Volunteer for By the Bay Health, you’ll be making a significant difference for someone facing end-of-life cognitive challenges. Your meaningful contributions will support the Hospice Care Team by:

> Sharing your creative skills with those in need
>
Assisting in symptom management
> Improving quality of life
> Bringing mental and motor stimulation to those suffering from terminal dementia

In return you’ll hone your sewing skills and share your work with those need.

We hope you’ll consider joining our caring team! By the Bay Health was founded by dedicated volunteers more than 40 years ago and they’re still at the heart of what we do.
