Seeking an individual with experience finding major donors for a charity who can advise us on strategy. Ideal candidate will know what we need to do, but here is our list of things we THINK we need help with:

1. How to create a message that will resonate - our mission is broad (all autoimmune diseases) but donors likely come from a sense of interest in only one or a few of these diseases. How can we translate specific interests to broadly oriented interest? How can we do that without donors feel they are "diluting" their impact by going "wide" rather than "deep"?

2. How do we find and get to donors to pitch them the message (assuming we have the right message from number 1). There are a lot of guidelines on turning small donors to large donors but we don't even have many small donors.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is classic marketing. If you have marketing experience with startups, that would be great. Nonprofit experience is a plus but not essential if you have some insights you think would be helpful.

Mission Statement

Autoimmune Registry is a network of patient registries representing all autoimmune diseases, ARI provides a hub for research, statistics & patient data for all autoimmune diseases. Our goals are to reduce the time to diagnosis, speed research into treatments, and eventually cure and prevent these diseases, which cause the majority of chronic illness in the US.

Description

Autoimmune Registry, Inc., ARI, is a Connecticut-based 501(c)3 non-profit corporation founded in 2016 to create a hub for research, statistics, and patient data on all autoimmune illnesses.

We operate a national database for patients who suffer from any autoimmune disease. Our mission is to reduce the time of diagnosis, support research, compute prevalence statistics, and establish autoimmune disease as a major class of disease so that it receives the awareness of the public, the attention of healthcare providers, and the appropriate funding needed to improve upon existing treatment protocols and disease management strategies.

We also aim to become a trusted source where patients with these diseases can find credible, scientifically-supported information about their diseases, promising treatments in the pipeline, and accurate prognosis insights. Whenever necessary, we will redirect patients to our patient advocacy groups for further resources and information.
