About Paoli Battlefield Preservation Fund
Location:

Mission Statement
The PBPF is tasked with maintaining and promoting the site of the Paoli Massacre, 9th bloodiest battle of the American Revolution. On September 20, 1777, just before midnight, British troops attacked Mad Anthony Wayne's troops, tasked with defending the capitol of Philadelphia. With bayonets and broadswords (any British soldier who used his musket would be executed), English General Grey led an attack that killed 53 people, who are still buried at the site in Malvern, PA. "Remember Paoli!" became the first battle cry of the Revolution. Due to its significance to the Philadelphia Campaign, its pristine maintenance, and the characters involved, we are currently pursuing National Historic Landmark status.
Description
For the last three years, on or near the anniversary of the battle, we have held our Heritage Day ceremonies. In addition to hosting reeenactors representing 200 years of American military history, we also host crafters, vendors, and fun for the whole family. Besides Heritage Day, we hold lecture series dinners, conduct Paranormal Tours, Walking Tours, and engage in local outreach and promote the history of the American Revolution's Philadelphia Campaign. We help Preserve, Protect, and Educate the public on this battlefield
