Stitching Instructors Needed
The Good Samaritan Society-Lake Forest Village is looking for volunteers to lead and instruct a class on quilting, sewing, and other types of stitch work. The volunteers will teach one class per month, and if there is a great participation response, a second class will be added to the schedule. This class will be a casual class where residents can get help on projects they are working on or can learn more about a specific technique from the instructors.
We are looking for two volunteers who have experience with sewing, quilting, crocheting, and knitting. The potential volunteers should have experience teaching and instructing classes in these areas as well as a community-base class. Volunteers should be comfortable working with older adults 55 and older and should have a sociable and engaging personality. Please note that all volunteers must complete a background check and a general orientation of which must be completed before any volunteer work is performed on campus.
If you are interested in teaching a stitch class for our residents, please contact Callie Sawyer, Life Enrichment Coordinator, at email@example.com.
