The Lost Towns Project, Inc., in cooperation with the Anne Arundel County Cultural Resources Division, has numerous volunteer opportunities year-round and welcomes newcomers of all levels of experience!

Gain hands-on experience washing, processing, and identifying artifacts at the Anne Arundel Archaeology Lab. The lab is currently open for volunteers on Tuesdays and Wednesdays 10:00-3:00. This schedule may change in the fall as fieldwork and staffing changes.

We will also have fieldwork opportunities at a variety of sites across Anne Arundel County throughout the fall. Take a part in an active archaeological excavation by digging or screening for artifacts. Digs occur on weekdays and usually start around 8:30 am.

No previous experience is necessary.
Children under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

We follow all applicable State and County COVID-19 requirements.
