The Gulf Coast Bird Observatory regularly attends community events and nature festivals. We are in need of volunteers to help represent us and our work at these events. Additionally, we often need volunteers to educate the public on the beaches about the birds, their environment, and how we can protect them.

Mission Statement
Our Mission is to protect birds and their habitats around the Gulf of Mexico and beyond. We do this by building innovative partnerships with communities, educators, governments, industries, universities, individuals, and other conservation groups.
Description
The Gulf Coast Bird Observatory is an independent non-profit organization with 501(c) status. GCBO is an innovative organization that works with many different partners to design and conduct a significant number of large conservation projects, including migration studies, habitat enhancement, land acquisition, regional habitat mapping, and others. Using sound scientific research, land protection and enhancement, and community engagement, we work to protect birds and their habitats around the Gulf of Mexico and beyond.
Our volunteers enable us to accomplish our goals by assisting in all aspects of our work including helping with events, helping with community outreach, working on our grounds, assisting with research efforts, helping with data entry, and more.
