Heartwood Haven's Pet Food Bank supplies pet food to customers of Gig Harbor Peninsula FISH Food Bank and Key Peninsula Bischoff Food Bank and low-income/ income qualified individuals. The Pet Food Bank keeps people and pets together and ensures that people who love their animal companions don’t have to choose between feeding their pets and feeding themselves. Every month, Heartwood Haven distributes 2000 lbs of food to feed 100 pets.
The third Wednesday of every month we operate a pet food bank from 2pm to 3pm at Key Peninsula Bischoff Food Bank followed by 3:30pm to 4:30pm at Gig Harbor Peninsula FISH. During the pet food bank we need volunteer help to assist customers with filling out forms and handing out pet food.

Our mission is to provide sanctuary to abused, neglected, mistreated, and homeless animals while educating the public about the effects of animal agriculture.
Description
Heartwood Haven is a volunteer run farmed animal sanctuary located in Gig Harbor, WA. We are an active rescue that provide rehabilitation to abused, neglected, and mistreated animals. Once the animals in our care have been rehabilitated then we work to find them forever homes. Many times the animals in our care and unable to find forever homes due to long lasting effects from abuse and neglect and remain at the sanctuary for the remainder of their lives. While also doing rescue work we also provide tours to the public, educational opportunities, and are actively involved in our community.
