On the First Wednesday of every month we provide a Pet Food Bank in partnership with our local human food banks. The food from these pet foods banks comes from donations from local companies. This volunteer opportunity is to assist us with these pet food pick ups. The pick ups happen generally twice a month but are not on a set schedule. We can typically provide 24 hours notice prior to a pick up needing to be executed. This position is of vital importance to the overall success of the pet food banks. Without a committed person to handle the pick ups the pet food bank would not be possible. Since our community relies heavily on us for the service a dedicated person is of the up most importance.

Our mission is to provide sanctuary to abused, neglected, mistreated, and homeless animals while educating the public about the effects of animal agriculture.
Description
Heartwood Haven is a volunteer run farmed animal sanctuary located in Gig Harbor, WA. We are an active rescue that provide rehabilitation to abused, neglected, and mistreated animals. Once the animals in our care have been rehabilitated then we work to find them forever homes. Many times the animals in our care and unable to find forever homes due to long lasting effects from abuse and neglect and remain at the sanctuary for the remainder of their lives. While also doing rescue work we also provide tours to the public, educational opportunities, and are actively involved in our community.
