We are looking for Intake Consultant Volunteers to help us create affordable housing in San Francisco! Our home-sharing program connects people with extra rooms in their homes with people seeking a place to share.

- Help address three important social causes: empowering older adults to live in their chosen homes, creating affordable housing in the Bay Area, fostering social connections
- If needed for school or work, you will receive certificate of volunteer hours
- Build your resume with direct client services skills and experience
In San Francisco, Home Match is a joint partnership between two nonprofits, Covia and Sequoia Living, with funding from the Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development.
We need your volunteer help (training will be provided) as an Intake Consultant with:
- Conducting 20-30 min interviews with participants seeking shared homes with Home Match
- Verifying participants’ income, and offering budget & resource counseling
- Maintaining careful & detailed notes of participant interactions
- Additional responsibilities can be determined based on your interests and experiences
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 hours per week
- Friendly and professional attitude, self-motivated, and reliable
- Pass a free background check screening
Preferred Skills & Experiences:
- Experience working with vulnerable populations
- Excellent verbal, active listening, and written skills
- Knowledge of local public & nonprofit resources a plus
- Ability to speak and write fluently in Spanish or Chinese highly desirable
