Mission Statement
To eliminate, reduce and remedy discrimination in the City of St. Louis through education, training and enforcement of federal, state and local civil right laws, rules and regulations.
Description
The Civil Rights Enforcement Agency or CREA, was originally formed due to a race riot regarding African-Americans swimming in the Fairground Park Pool in 1949. Since that time, CREA has been charged with enforcement of federal, state and local fair housing, equal employment opportunity and public accommodation laws, rules and regulations.
