The Holiday Store is a festive and meaningful event that impacts the lives of 250 children and teens each holiday season.

Our students earn "points" every class for meeting their dance and leadership commitments. At the Holiday Store, they use those points to "buy" gifts for their families and loved ones, reinforcing their sense of hard work, compassion, and giving.

The Store's success depends entirely on the generosity of our donors and volunteers like YOU.

Available volunteer positions include:

  • On Saturday, December 8: assistance with set-up (decorating, setting up stations, separating donations, etc. gift-wrapping, helping children as personal shoppers, checkout help, and clean up.)
  • On Sunday, December 9: assistance with gift-wrapping, helping children as personal shoppers, checkout help, and clean up.
There are several shifts available on each day. Choose which day(s) work the best for you. Please monitor your email after you express interest. You will receive a link to the official sign up. Your registration is not complete until you follow the steps on that page.

    We are asking for each volunteer to do both shifts, however, if you can only do one or the other, please notate that.

Moving in the Spirit is an award winning creative youth development program that uses the discipline of dance to help children and teens develop the social, emotional and cognitive skills they need to thrive.

Description

Moving in the Spirit uses dance as a creative tool to help young people develop life skills and workplace values, reinforce school curriculum, give voice to issues pertinent to today's youth, and encourage the development of a healthy self-concept.
