We are looking for a volunteer or intern to assist with managing our documentation resources and
repositories to increase Clear Blue Sea’s productivity and effectiveness in performing our mission
and completing over 15 ongoing projects, all of which involve documentation. By documentation,
we mean an umbrella term for text files, engineering drawings, photos, videos, research papers, news
articles, and other documented information relevant to ocean conservancy and Clear Blue Sea’s
projects ranging from engineering to social media.
This position offers flexible hours with specific roles and responsibilities defined in collaboration with
the CBSea team. If you are passionate about saving the oceans and have a knack for business
management, please get in touch! Don’t worry about what your major is, since we have all sorts of
student interns working on projects that are both inside and outside their academic field.
Specific documentation administration tasks include:
Review current multiple Clear Blue Sea (CBSea) documentation repositories to gain familiarity
with their structure and content
Identify duplicative files that can be delete to conserve repository space
Develop CBSea documentation guidelines regarding format, structure, design, glossary, writing
style, document review processes, and document approval policies
Provide training on CBSea document management to all volunteers/interns
Identify emergent research papers on the topics of ocean plastic, unmanned robotics, ocean
conservancy, etc. that would be important for CBSea
Identify documentation issues with potential resolutions for review by CBSea management
Attend weekly management meetings with Clear Blue Sea leadership to present status,
brainstorm issues, discuss next steps, and secure guidance and collaboration as needed
Here are capabilities and attributes we look for in our interns and volunteers:
Committed to completing work assignments on time and with high quality
Passionate about remediating the oceans of plastic pollution
Interested in strengthening brainstorming and teamwork skills on CBSea projects
