The City of Austin has been recycling Christmas and holiday trees for over thirty years.
The Parks and Recreation Department is once again working in partnership with Austin Resource Recovery to host the 34th Annual Holiday Tree Recycling event at Zilker Park. All trees will be turned into mulch that can then be picked up by area residents in mid-January.
TIME: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

If you are interested in volunteering at the Holiday Tree Recycling event this year please email Meredith Gauthier, PARD Recycling Program Manager, at meredith.gauthier@austintexas.gov, indicating the day and time that will work best for you.
Volunteer shifts will be from 10am - 12pm or 12pm-2pm (and we welcome those who want to do both shifts!). We suggest that you dress according to the weather and bring a pair of work gloves if you have them available. We will provide festive T-shirts and light refreshments for volunteers.
We welcome volunteers age 18 and up. Following COVID-19 precautions, masks are required at all times and hand sanitizer will be provided.
