Intercept Survey Volunteers will help conduct a research study with visitors at Fernbank. Feedback and findings from the survey will help to enhance and directly impact decisions that affect the visitor experience at Fernbank. Responsibilities include approaching guests to partake in our survey using tablets, as well as being able to answer questions about the museum's exhibits and content.
An orientation and background check will be required prior to beginning service.Materials will be provided by the Volunteer Office as necessary. Volunteers must be over the age of 18 and will be asked to adhere to a basic dress code, including a nametag and Fernbank scarf or tie. Please contact the Volunteer Coordinator for further details or to schedule an orientation date. We are currently recruiting new volunteers to join us in a variety of roles within the museum as part of our Adult Volunteer group. Volunteering with us is a great way to meet new people while giving valuable time to an important cultural institution in Atlanta. There is a position for every personality and age, with opportunities such as Film Attendant, forest restoration volunteer, exhibit facilitator, Animal Care volunteer, and more. We encourage our volunteers to work in as many different positions as they like -- branch out and discover what suits you best!

Fernbank Museum of Natural History is currently recruiting new volunteers to join us in a variety of roles within the Museum through our adult volunteer program. Volunteering with us is a great way to meet new people while serving your community at an important cultural institution in Atlanta. There is a position for every personality and age, with opportunities such as Lobby Ambassador, Exhibit Facilitator, Forest Restoration Volunteer, and more. Volunteers give nearly 20,000 hours to Fernbank Museum a year, making it possible for us to offer a warm welcome and an educational experience to our visitors every day. In exchange for their time, volunteers are invited to social functions such as field trips, potlucks, and our annual awards brunch.
