Definition of a hospice volunteer: someone who wants to make a difference. Concordia Hospice of Washington services patients in the three surrounding counties: Allegheny, Washington, and Greene. Concordia Hospice of Washington is looking for volunteers in any of the above mentioned counties who would be willing to visit with patients in their homes or at our Donnell House. Ultimately, these visits would entail providing companionship/building relationships with the patients and also give caregivers a time of respite. Concordia Hospice of Washington volunteers play a variety of roles throughout our volunteer program. We're always looking for people who are pet or music therapists, who like to cook/bake, hair stylists, administrative assistants, or who would enjoy helping out at special events. Not only do we serve patients in their homes, but our patients also can go to our Donnell House for symptom management or respite. The Donnell House also has volunteers who visit patients and families there and provide administrative assistance. Whether our volunteers are holding a patient's hand, cooking a meal, praying with families, and much more, they all make a difference in their own special way.
