Allegheny General Hospital’s Palliative Medicine division is currently recruiting volunteers to provide spiritual/pastoral care to our inpatients. Palliative care focuses on alleviating the suffering which accompanies serious illness. These symptoms may be physical, emotional, psychological or spiritual. Training will be provided by members of the palliative care team and hospital chaplains. Anyone 18 years of age or older is invited to apply. Prior experience is welcomed but not required. Schedules are arranged at the volunteer’s convenience.
