Founded in 1998, CAAFA serves individuals impacted by domestic and sexual violence in Pinal and eastern Maricopa Counties. We operate a crisis shelter and also provide services to survivors in the community who do not need shelter, or who have exited our shelter program. Our services include victim advocacy, lay legal advocacy, sexual violence services, support groups, one-on-one empowerment sessions, case management, safety planning, direct financial assistance for both emergency needs and self-sufficiency, food boxes for nutritional support, community education and awareness, and more!
CAAFA serves all genders, including in our crisis shelter. We are trauma-informed, and use a low barrier approach to all of our services-meaning that we serve individuals whose circumstances (e.g. substance use, mental health challenges, immigration status) may otherwise be barriers to receiving services.
CAAFA has a wide range of volunteer needs. The opportunities include
- working in our food pantry.
- organizing our storage room.
- supporting our advocates in our outreach office.
- working with staff in our administrative office.
- CAAFA also needs individuals to host table events in the community and surrounding area.
CAAFA also needs volunteers for working with safe home participants. Those volunteers will need to pass a background check, finger print clearance and references prior to volunteering.
All volunteers are asked to complete a volunteer application, orientation and some training.
