The mission of Washtenaw Area Council for Children is to prevent child abuse and neglect through educational services and programs to children, caregivers, community members and youth serving professionals.
VISION: All children in Washtenaw County will have a happy childhood in a safe, healthy environment.
WACC was established in 1975 as the Washtenaw County Coordination Council for Children at Risk to specifically address to need of inter-disciplinary, inter-agency cooperation in matters concerning the safety of children and youth. In 1983, with the formation of the Michigan Children's Trust Fund, the agency became a designated council for the Trust Fund and began to establish priorities for program development for the prevention of child abuse and neglect. Today the Council is composed of individuals and agencies who work together to prevent child abuse and neglect, strengthen families, and to improve the welfare of children in our county. Council membership includes representatives from schools, law enforcement, the courts, health care, the Family Independence Agency, private social agencies, mental health providers, business and the general public.
We'll work with your schedule.
This is a Virtual Opportunity, with no fixed address.
