Our Residential Department oversees all home operations and our Support Services Department provides assistance to those we serve in the community. These departments are organized through Program Directors, each with their own caseloads. Interns in these departments often work alongside Program Directors and assist in the completion of their job functions. Interns will be exposed to the many tasks that go into providing quality care to individuals with developmental disabilities. Tasks may include completing individual satisfaction surveys and visiting homes - to include direct interaction with individuals - reviewing IP books, daily logbooks, and behavior plans, and completing required documentation. Other potential tasks include creating cookbooks that consider residents’ dietary restrictions and needs, researching and/or developing medical equipment used by people with disabilities, and investigating affordable dental opportunities for those we support.

Mission Statement

Our Mission is to provide homes, support, and loving care for individuals with developmental disabilities, enabling them to participate as fully as they wish in all aspects of community life.

Description

Bello Machre, founded in 1972, is a non-profit organization in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. Bello Machre means "home of my heart" in Gaelic. We nurture, teach, and care for hundreds of children and adults with developmental disabilities. Some are as young as three months old. Some are seniors. Many are struggling with severe medical conditions. But they all have one thing in common: the need for a loving family and for a home where they can feel safe and loved. We serve children and adults without regard to race, religion, gender, or national origin.
