Operation Xcel is an academic enrichment after- school program that seeks to transform the lives of areas students and families need. Through homework assistance, character development, family advocacy workshops, and community involvement. The majority of students that attend Operation Xcel are below grade level and low-income families.
We need volunteers to work with our k through 3rd grade students as mentors, academic tutors, and snack buddies. Snack buddies are between the hours of 2:00 pm and 2:30 pm. Volunteers may work with students one on one or in a group of 3 students. Some of our students may need that individual attention that they may not get at home or school.

Description
Operation Homework: "Equipping Socially, Emotionally and Academically"
Operation Homework seeks to transform the lives of area students by providing them with the support needed to develop strong academic and social skills. We work to empower students to become responsible citizens prepared to succeed in higher education, careers, and in service to the community.
Operation Saturday Academy: "REAL, RELEVANT, ENGAGING"
Operation Saturday Academy offers enriching experiences, which connect real world activities to the subject matter that students are learning in school. Our goal is to compliment academic work and to foster a 'love for learning,’ providing youth with the skills and confidence needed to become productive, forward-thinking creators of their own destiny. We envision these youth maturing to become contributors to the social and economic vitality of their communities.
Operation 3 Steps Ahead Summer Learning: "MAXIMIZING EXCELLENCE"
Our purpose is to engage students in enrichment activities that advance their skills and understanding in the areas of reading and writing, math and science. We also strive to provide students with opportunities to develop character, learn valuable life skills, make new friends, and discover new interests.
