Amachi Gives Back
At a recent Amachi group outing, mentors and their mentees gave back in their community by helping paint a local woman's home and clean up her yard.

Amachi Knoxville, an initiative of Knoxville Leadership Foundation, needs you! We are looking for

individuals to serve in our 1:1 community-based mentoring program. Amachi serves kids, ages 4-17,

in the Knoxville community who are impacted by the incarceration of a family member, personally

involved in the Juvenile Court, or generally in need of a mentor.

Amachi Knoxville works to connect mentees with caring, positive adults in the community who will walk

alongside them as a friend and role model. If you would like to learn more about how four hours

a month can make a big impact in the life of a child contact Kathryn Compeau today!

Additional Information:

-Amachi Knoxville requires mentors commit to 4-6 hours per month for at least one full calendar year.

-Amachi Knoxville provides support for both mentors and mentees, which includes community events each month that you can attend with your mentee (i.e. Sierra Club outings, Kickball game, UT Tailgate Party).

Mission Statement

The Knoxville Leadership Foundation serves the Knoxville area by connecting communities of resource with communities of need while reconciling people to Jesus Christ and to each other.

Description

KLF is a faith-based organization that believes our city can be transformed through reconciliation. Reconciliation occurs when people from different communities and walks of life roll up their sleeves, work side-by-side and really begin to understand and appreciate each other. This is what our programs do: they bring people together to work on targeted problems in our city that put people at serious risk. Our programs are effectively and efficiently staffed and managed. All people have to do is plug in, join in and watch transformation happen.
