We look forward to having you on our team!

Through your knowledge, practice and experience of yoga, help residents of Escondido Community Sobering Services (ECSS) inpatient program through their journey to wellness. Support them as they discover a deeper inner strength paired with the knowledge that they can accomplish anything, and that power extends to all areas of their lives. Each session, teach clients the basic skills of how to practice Yoga for health and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and lead yoga classes once a week or bi-weekly.
  • Create a curriculum appropriate for beginning level instruction.
  • Visually assess students to determine their level of practice.
  • Demonstrate practice and techniques.
  • Transform energy during the warm-up, build-up, and cool-down stages.
  • Motivate students with words of encouragement.
  • Connect with students during the yoga classes through fun, intelligent sequencing.
  • Effective at communicating after each session with Recovery & Wellness Center program staff.
  • Communicate schedule changes, if needed, in advance.
  • Yoga instructor needs to be comfortable working with clients having a mental health diagnosis and/or are recovering from a substance use disorder.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a diverse population.
  • Comfortable asking questions from staff for clarification and receiving direction as appropriate.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Driver's License Needed
  • Background Check
  • Must be at least 21
  • Orientation or Training
  • • This is an ongoing (6+ months), weekly commitment. • Weekdays or Weekends. You may sign up for one or more shifts per week. • Afternoon, evening, or weekend sessions preferred. • One-hour sessions. • Occurrence: Weekly or Bi-weekly.
  • Qualifications: • Must clear criminal background check. • Yoga Instructor certification. • Minimum of 200 hours of experience. • CPR/First Aid certification. • Education or experience in health and fitness preferred.
