Volunteer Action for Aging

In Riverside/ San Bernardino counties we have so many giving and compassionate bi-lingual Spanish speaking people. Often our mono-lingual seniors wait for many months to connect with a volunteer who speaks Spanish. I know you are out there. Please step up to make this commitment.

Our agency is Volunteer Action for Aging, a Community Service division of SCAN Health Plan. We coordinate a Friendly Visitor program. Our mission is to match caring volunteers with seniors who may need some company. This opportunity involves no personal or home care, just an hour per week of getting to know someone new! Our Friendly Visitor program is free of charge.

This opportunity is a small commitment for a large reward! Just 1 hour per week to play cards, chat, take a walk, talk about the past, present and future with a senior who has wisdom, humor, and is appreciative of your time and your ability to listen and speak in your common language!

Please access our website scan.samaritan.com; click on the Friendly Visitor tab to complete an application.

If you have questions please feel free to contact Edlin Fresquez: EFresquez@scanhealthplan.com or
