One-on-one student support in the classroom

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Genesis Center

  • 1 person is interested

We are in need of some support in the classroom for two students:

One student is in a workforce class and has trouble learning. She is feeling overwhelmed during Math class. We would love someone to work with her separately on the math concepts so she can get more focused attention. That need is Tuesdays 12:30-2:30

Another student understands English and can speak a bit, but is unable to read/write. Her native language is Swahili. We are looking for volunteers to sit with her in her classroom and help her modify what the teacher is asking of the whole class (i.e. teacher says write a sentence or copy the sentence from the board, volunteer coaches student to write/copy one or two words)
This need is Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday 12:00-2:30 AND/OR Wednesday/Thursday 9:00-11:30. I am expecting this to be split between multiple volunteers, as it is a lot to ask of one person.

Thank you so much for your consideration.
