The Inglewood Public Library is looking for teens and adults to be Cyber Volunteers who help with our Digital Literacy classes. Each class is 2 hours and each session is 6 weeks long. Cyber Volunteers are needed for 1/2 hour before each class and will stay 1/2 hour after each class.
HOURS NEEDED:
On Mondays, children ages 9 -10 years old meet from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
On Tuesdays, children ages 11 - 14 years old meet from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
On Saturdays, children age 6 - 8 years old meet from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

All classes are taught by a librarian. We need Cyber Volunteers to help set up and take down our computer lab plus help the children during the basic computer class. Experience is not required although we are looking for volunteers who like children and are patient. Training is provided. The right candidate(s) have the potential to teach the classes on a volunteer basis in the future.

Description

The Parks, Recreation and Library Services Department is charged with enhancing the quality of life for Inglewood residents, businesses and visitors through the provision of comprehensive recreational, social and community beautification services and programs. The Department consists of four Divisions - Parks, Recreation and Cultural, Human Services and Library Services - with the following goals:

  • Provide comprehensive recreational, Library and community service programs for youth, families and senior citizens.
  • Promote broad access to parks, recreational, and library facilities.
  • Expand opportunities for cultural enrichment.
  • Maintain a high level of service and maintenance in City parks, parkways, center medians, islands, alleys and trees located on City property.
  • Promote community beautification and foster neighborhood preservation through responsive and professional anti-graffiti activities

Our ultimate goal is to help individuals enjoy life.
