Can we count on you to help a deserving Duarte resident and neighbor? Saturday October 26th is Make A Difference Day and we sure want to make a huge difference in Doris Dennis' life.
Doris is an elderly lady who retired from Santa Teresita Hospital where she helped so many, and since then has developed some health and mobility issues, including two knee replacements. She also has been caring for her adult daughter who, she herself, has had recent debilitating health issues. Due to Doris and her daughter's health and mobility problems, she has been unable to keep up with the maintenance of her home and it became unsafe. When code enforcement stopped by her home, we were called and asked to help her out. We have been working on her home this entire month and we are just about finished. Just one final push to get the last of the painting done, replacing her grass with mulch as to help keep it as low maintenance as possible, and a few other odds and ends here and there.
Could you spare a few hours of your Saturday to volunteer and help finish the work there so she has a healthy and safe place to call home? As always, coffee and pastries will be provided in the morning, snacks throughout the day, and a lunch.

REQUIREMENTS
- Must be at least 16
- Registration will begin at 7:30 AM and work will start at 8:00 AM. You are not required to come on time or to stay all day; whatever time you can spare to help is appreciated.
- If you do come and help, we ask that you wear clothes you don't mind getting dirt and paint on, and wear closed toe shoes. No one under the age of 16 can participate and those under 18 must have written permission from a parent/guardian.
