MISSION OF UNITED WAY 211:
United Way 211 receives nearly 100 calls a day for help finding food, shelter, rent and utilities assistance, aging and disability resources, and more. 211 calls are answered by volunteers, who listen, empathize, and connect people with community resources and services to help. To support this effort, 211 works closely with social service agencies in the area to maintain a database of over 1,500 community resources.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Volunteer Resource Assistants help to maintain and expand the Community Resource Database by conducting interviews and site visits with service providers, entering their information into the database, ensuring services comply with our policies, and following up with agencies in order to activate their services.

TRAINING:
- Training Sessions (approximately 10 hours)
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 18 years of age or older
- Proficiency in internet navigation and general computer skills
- Interest in communicating with people of diverse backgrounds and situations
- Ability to multi-task
VOLUNTEER HOURS:
- All new volunteers are required to commit to a minimum of 6 months of service
