Bike Parking - Halloween in Japantown

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition

Volunteer with Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition by parking bikes in Japantown! Participate in this wonderful community event and encourage folks to bike in - it's a win-win!

You'll accept bikes from bicyclists and hand them a ticket. After they're done enjoying the Halloween celebration, they'll give you the ticket and you'll return their bike - it's like a coat check!

There are two shifts for this event, one from 3:15 p.m. - 6 p.m. and one from 6 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Email jessica@bikesiliconvalley.org with any questions.

-----

Volunteers will need to be able to comfortably move tables and chairs (can be done in pairs) and remain on their feet for the majority of their shift. Volunteers aged 13 to 18, who are not accompanied by a parent or legal guardian are required to bring a signed waiver form (below) to the Event Lead the day of the event. Volunteers under the age of 13 must also be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to volunteer.

Parents/Guardians, if your child is coming with you to volunteer, the expectation is that they can be independent and support the bike parking program without your need to supervise them the entire time. You will be working together but must be able to leave them unattended at times. If you are unsure if this is an age-appropriate volunteer activity for your child, please do not hesitate to contact the Community Programs Manager.
