Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) is the interaction of people and domesticated pets in a positive way when a person shares the love and companionship of their pet with someone who is not able to have a pet in their situation. Hands-on training and educational experience by the most experienced trainers in Carolina's preparing you and your dog to volunteer in the community as an animal-assisted therapy team. Participants will experience "real-life" situations based on over 20 years practicing animal-assisted therapy in the field.
The animal-assisted therapy class will be offered in different locations around town.

Description
Four Paws and a Wake Up-NC began with a dream and today the dream continues. Working in the service dog industry for nearly 25 years, a change necessitated an evaluation of lifetime goals and the deep desire to continue to serve others. Having met the Founder of Four Paws and a Wake Up, my wife and I agreed to mentor her in the service dog industry. Little did we know the decision to mentor would result in a new endeavor.
Four Paws and a Wake Up-NC operates as an independent chapter incorporated in North Carolina, with an employer identification number and tax-exempt status unique to the North Carolina site.
