Group Volunteers

What we need:

Is your organization, office, club, or group looking for a fun and rewarding service project? Opportunities and availability vary based on Wonders of Wildlife’s needs but may include special events, event preparations, wayfinding, and other projects.

What you may do:

• Wayfinders: Enrich guest experience and guide guests through the path
• Event volunteers: help with everything from greeting guests to engaging families at crafts, food/beverage, or information stations around the Aquarium
• Special projects: assist a Johnny Morris Foundation department with a specific project, which may be cleaning, organizing, building enrichment items, or other community-minded solutions for our animal care or education teams

How this will help us:

Many events and opportunities at the Aquarium wouldn’t happen smoothly without the wonderful support of volunteers. Volunteers engage and enrich the adventure for guests during public events.

How this will help you:

You can make a meaningful contribution by giving a few hours at a special event. Meet great people with similar interests, enjoy a fabulous work environment, and benefit from more engaged employees and increased morale! This is also a great way to earn hours for community service projects for high schools, colleges, businesses, etc.

Skills and Experience:

Volunteer activities are designed for groups of 5-25 people.

All volunteers must be at least 18 years of age* and must be members of your group or organization. *Special consideration may be given to certain groups (Scouts, Youth groups, etc. with a required adult-to-child ratio.

Your group is required to have a pre-determined Group Coordinator, who will be on-site for the duration of the volunteer event. This person is responsible for the safety and well-being of the group members.

• A list of participants must be sent to Volunteer Services at least 1 week in advance of the activity.
• Each participant will need to complete a volunteer emergency contact and waiver form.

Availability/Time Commitment:

Time commitments vary by opportunity or event, but typically last 2-3 hours, however, all day events may be offered.

Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate every group that is interested. Groups are encouraged to apply, and the Volunteer Services team will contact you regarding available opportunities.
