Do you have a passion for helping those who are grieving or dealing with the recent loss of a loved one?
We are seeking compassionate and caring individuals, like yourself, to volunteer their time, making supportive follow-up calls to bereaved families and loved ones.
Hospice Volunteers are an integral part of our interdisciplinary team at Advantage Hospice, working with our staff to meet the needs of our patients and families.
Bereavement volunteers provide support, while exercising active listening skills, assistance and other supportive services. Volunteers also have the potential to grow in their role over time, eventually assisting in bereavement support groups if desired. Once fully trained and oriented with the process, volunteers have the option to help from the comfort of their own homes.
Every hospice volunteer has something special and significant to contribute, and we welcome and encourage new ideas!

Description
The focus of Hospice relies on the belief that each of us has the right to die pain-free and with dignity, and that our loved ones will receive the necessary support to allow us to do so.
Hospice focuses on caring, not curing and in most cases care is provided in the person’s home.
Hospice care also is provided in freestanding hospice centers, hospitals, nursing homes and other long-term care facilities.
Hospice services are available to patients of any age, religion, race, or illness.
Hospice care is covered under Medicare, Medi-Cal, most private insurance plans, HMOs, and other managed care organizations.
