Transition House is a non-profit organization in Santa Barbara, California, dedicated to the solution of family homelessness. Transition House offers a comprehensive three-stage housing program that aims at helping families develop life skills and sound decision making practices, aimed at alleviating their poverty through strong family-centered support services and rigorous case management.
We are seeking a highly motivated volunteer who would like to provide a service to our residents by potentially filling mornings, evenings, or overnights as needed. Bilingual (Spanish/English) applicants preferred.
Volunteers would be called in times of gaps of staffing during hiring process, emergency/disaster, holidays, long term illness or injury to regular staff, vacation coverage.
Training will be provided in order for volunteers to be able to handle any situation that may arise with clients living in Transition House. Volunteers would receive staff updates and attend meetings.
