Come read with Kids
Joseph Lugo and Kayla read a book together. Reading literacy in children from the Leaven increases two-three levels over children who are not in the Leaven program.

Leaven Kids After School Program provides fun, engaging programming for underserved elementary students from Kindergarten through 6th grade. Leaven Kids has multiple site locations in Fairfield, Vacaville and throughout Solano, in Napa, and Contra Costa Counties that operate daily Monday - Friday from 2:45 - 5 PM. Come out and help mentor, assist with homework, and provide children with the support needed to help them rise above the challenges they face!

Leaven Kids is a hub of hope and help, a targeted transformational tool to marginalized communities through afterschool programming, that is motivated to mentor by planting learning centers inside apartment buildings in low-income and crime-ridden neighborhoods--where no one else is willing to go. Staffed with committed staff and volunteers, children are provided with practical support that leads to seeing kids and communities rise above the challenges of broken cycles.

  • Volunteers commit to one afternoon a week for 2 hours a day. Typical hours are 2:45 - 4:45 PM or 3 - 5 PM, depending upon location.
