Volunteer Title: Flower Project Volunteer
Reports to: The Flower Project Volunteer reports to the Visit-A-Bit Manager
and Coordinator
Time: On average, 3-5 hours/week with some weeks no volunteer work will be available
Summary of Position:
- Pick up donated flowers, create flower arrangements and at times, deliver the flowers to Visit-A-Bit Seniors, Hospice and/or AIM patients.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Pick up flower donations from local flower shops or funeral homes as directed by the Visit-A-Bit Coordinator.
- Create small individual arrangements in cups for VNA clientele here at our VNA office.
- Transport the flower arrangements and deliver them to homes and facilities as per the direction of the Visit-A Bit Coordinator, at times.
- Complete your contact report and log your volunteer hours within 48 hours of your visit.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 16 years of age and have a valid driver’s license
- No experience required
- Must be available within 24-48 hours after VNA contacts you
- Should exhibit a great deal of patience, creativity and provide a calming and joyful experience with everyone you deliver to
- Volunteers should genuinely want to give back to the senior adult community
- Comfortable standing or sitting while making flower arrangements
Environment:
- Volunteering will take place in the VNA office as well as in the homes and facilities of the Seniors receiving the flowers.

VNA is a non profit organization and a member of the United Way with a certified volunteer program. Visiting Nurse Association seeks to improve the quality of life for those patients with a life limiting illness for whom the goal is comfort rather than cure thru their hospice division. VNA also provides palliative care -Advanced Illness Management to patients with difficulty leaving home due to serious chronic illness. VNA also provides Care at home through private duty services-VNA CAre at Home.
