Help combat food insecurity with Project for Pride in Living! In partnership with Good in the Hood, PPL is running a participating in a program titled "food Shelf in a Box". This is an opportunity to run a food shelf on site once a month for 24 families, providing a week's worth of groceries for each family by the end of the day.
We are currently looking for groups of volunteers to ensure that this program is as successful as possible! Duties involve unloading food from the delivery pallets, setting up the tables, and making sure the space is ready for distribution.
During the hours of the food shelf, volunteers have the opportunity to act as a "personal shopper" for residents, help residents get their food up to their units in the building, and cleaning up the space once the day is done. This is an amazing chance to provide an essential service for low income families and those transitioning from a situation of homelessness.
For more information or to sign up, please contact Katlyn Martin at katlyn.martin@ppl-inc.org or 612-455-5119.
