Bonfire
A beautiful bonfire like this will keep us warm as we work to help the forest preserve!

You will be working at a Forest Preserve, cutting down invasive brush and burning it in a brush pile. It is an incredible opportunity to be outside, be one with nature, and learn about our efforts to preserve and restore our natural areas.

We will be cutting down some invasive species with hand tools, while a nice fire is going. For that reason, I strongly recommend you come prepared with the following:

  1. Close-toe shoes (sneakers, work boots preferred)
  2. Long pants (Please avoid any synthetic material, such as fleece, as they are more likely to burn by one of the embers coming from the fire. I would avoid leggings too)
  3. Layers (I'm not sure what the weather will be, I would come prepared to take layers off during the day)
  4. Reusable water bottle (We will have a water jug to refill)
  5. Long sleeves preferred as well
Hope to see you out in the preserves!
