This is an opportunity for families from across the state of Maryland to help struggling families on the Abaco Island in the Bahamas. The destruction left by Hurricane Dorian is unbelievable and people are still suffering. To be apart of this day, we ask that families collect the following items and bring them on Family Volunteer Day:

  • towels/towelettes
  • work gloves
  • wet wipes
  • trash bags
  • sheet sets
  • blankets
  • first aid kits
  • mosquito repellent
  • flash lights
  • personal hygiene items
  • pampers
  • baby wipes
  • small toys/gifts for 12 girls 20 boys ages 3 mos. - 14 years
Family volunteers will sort and package all of the items that have been collected and prepare them for shipping. Over lunch, families will have the opportunity to get to know each other and will hear about the current state of affairs in the Bahamas from native Bahamians. The younger children will help with packing while also making cards to accompany the packages.
