We need your help to fight stigma and promote awareness that recovery is possible! There are various day-of volunteer needs including: Set Up, Check In, Registration, Photography, Refreshments, Finish Line Cheer Squad and Clean Up Crew.
NAMIWalks brings together individuals, families, and businesses to help raise funds, fight stigma, and promote awareness that recovery is possible. NAMIWalks’ public display of support for people affected by mental health conditions is one important way that we are changing how Americans view mental illness. The National Alliance on Mental Illness of Palm Beach County is an organization dedicated to providing support, education and advocacy with the goal to empower persons with mental illness and their families.
Description
The National Alliance on Mental Illness of Palm Beach County is a non-profit volunteer-run organization dedicated to providing education, support, and advocacy with the goal to empower individuals living with mental illness and their families, and to eliminate the stigma associated with brain illness.
Our mission is to be the recognized leading organization for improving the quality of life and protecting the rights and interests of those affected by mental illness in Palm Beach County. Elimination of the stigma attached to mental illness is essential to achieve the goals of empowerment, social inclusion and recovery.
NAMI PBC provides support groups, information on resources, advocacy, and free educational programs, such as peer-to-peer or family-to-family programs.

REQUIREMENTS
- Volunteers can sign up for the following shifts: 6 - 10 AM, 9 AM - 1 PM, or all day (6 AM - 1 PM, volunteers who work all day will be given a break during the event to enjoy some of NAMIWalks).
- There will be a volunteer meeting held on October 24th from 6 - 8 PM regarding the specific position. This will be at the NAMI Lake Worth location: 1520 10th Ave N D, Lake Worth, FL 33460
