Key Responsibilities
- Educate the community on "Stop the Bleed" (STB) bleeding control skills
- Transport materials and equipment to presentation sites
- Attend volunteer meetings
- Experienced volunteers will assist with onboarding and training new volunteers
- Possess one or more one of the following credentials: EMR, EMT, Paramedic, Registered Nurse (Current, inactive, or retired), Nurse Practitioner, Physician’s Assistant, MD/DO
- At least one-year experience delivering medical care
- Support the City of Seattle and the Seattle OEM mission & values
- Ability to effectively deliver public education/training to a wide variety of audiences, including but not limited to seniors, childcare providers, businesses, youth, workplace, and neighborhood groups, civic and community-based organizations
- Strong communication, public speaking and interpersonal skills
- Punctual and dependable
- Display a high level of professionalism and diplomacy
- Willingness to volunteer weekday nights and occasional weekends. Some weekday days also needed, but not mandatory.
- Reliable method of transportation (includes public transportation)
- Ability to transport and lift equipment up to 20lbs
- Valid Driver’s License or WA state-issued identification

Description
Seattle is subject to a variety of hazards ... severe weather, earthquakes, pandemics, large planned events which pose security concerns, etc. The Seattle Office of Emergency Management (OEM) is responsible for developing plans, partnerships, training and exercises to minimize the danger and damage to our community caused by those hazards. OEM does this in partnership with the our community, working with community members, community-based organizations, schools, hospitals, faith-based groups, and many others in preparing themselves. The Seattle Office of Emergency Management partners with other City departments, County, State and Federal governments as well as the business community to recover from the aftermath of disasters.
